JOB OVERVIEW/SUMMARY:
One in-country INEE focal point will be designated in Tanzania. The individual will support the lead international consultant to plan and organize trainings, take up capacity-building efforts at country-level, enable case study and documentation, and support knowledge dissemination. The focal point will report to the NRC Education project manager.

ROLES:
Capacity Development on INEE tools and approaches: As part of the DEVCO project’s aim to improve the implementation of INEE tools and approaches, the in-country INEE focal point will:
  • Support the lead international consultant in planning, organizing, and implementing an initial 1-2 workshops/trainings in Tanzania including but not limited to the following tasks:
  • Attend, co-facilitate, and provide general support during the initial workshops/trainings lead by the international consultant, including but not limited to the following tasks:
Case studies on conjlict sensitive education compiled and disseminated: As part of the DEVCO project’s aim to document the use and uptake of INEE tools on conflict sensitivity and efforts to build capacity of in-country stakeholders, the in-country INEE focal point will:
  • Support the international consultant in conducting one case study (2 phases) on the use of INEE tools on education and conflict sensitivity.
  • Develop tools and methodology for data collection with the international consultant
  • Lead interviews, surveys and workshops with key informants
  • Organize communications and gather and share information

Evidence Dissemination and Promotion and Project Communications: As part of the DEVCO project’s aim to contribute to the development and dissemination of information, and documentation of capacity building efforts, the in-country INEE focal point will:
  • Support the international consultant in their effort to ensure communications and information sharing through INEE channels.

DELIVERABLES:
  • Support provided for the initial three to four (3-4) in-country workshops in Tanzania led by the international consultant during the initial phase of the project (Years 1-2), as outlined above
  • Planning and facilitation of three to four (3-4) further workshops implemented (Year 2)
  • Follow-up support provided to training participants,
  • Support provided for phase I case study (1), for Tanzania, one year after the first workshop.
  • Support provided for Phase II case study (1), for Tanzania, two years after the first workshop, building on the Phase I case studies.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree or higher level training in education, international development, forced migration, humanities, or related field: Fluency in written and spoken English essential and some French;
Knowledge and experience in humanitarian work and experience in the field of education in emergencies and fragile contexts (at least 3 years);
Extensive knowledge of in-country context;
Excellent facilitation and training skills essential;
Demonstrated experience in facilitating workshops and trainings for key stakeholders in humanitarian and/or development contexts;
Experience in materials development for trainings and workshops.
Thorough knowledge of the INEE Minimum Standards and INEE CSE Pack essential and previous INEE MS and/or CSE training experience a plus;
