JHS-T has been here for almost 60 years in Tanzania and is now placed to support the developing sectors of Energy and Industry. A division of Energy & Industry has being developed to cater for solutions in the renewable systems and EPC for big projects in power generation
Jos.Hansen is looking for a young and enthusiastic Sales & Project Engineer suitable in our team for fulfilment of our vision of becoming a leading player in water technology within the medium sized water supply, sanitation and treatment systems. The duties extend to support the related products and services specifically scientific equipment for geomatics, geophysics and education sectors.
Sales & Project Engineer
Pumps/ Scientific Equipment/ Geodetic/Geophysical Systems
1. Business Development in the water and related sectors: education, health, geodetic & geophysics:
Provide complete solutions for water sector: sales of water pumps and associated equipment and fittings; site installations, commissioning & training of operators; small to medium level water projects, solid waste and waste water solutions;
Develop business and sales of equipment for research, education and health sectors;
Sales and marketing of geodetic and geophysical Instruments;
Preparation of technical and commercial offers, tender documents; and
Site construction supervision.
2. Assist Country Manager on similar or other tasks as may be delegated including capacity building in management.
Capable of Business Development by finding customers and close business for supply and delivery of specified pumps, control panels, drivers, to the customers and close the payments;
Engineering Field Works including Site Survey for the water pumps requirements, data collection, data analysis, water hydraulic design calculations including required pumping heads, establish the site suction conditions, calculate NPSHr, planning, conceptual design, detailed design of water systems, pumps sizing ( submersible and surface) compile site reports, cost calculations involving supply, site delivery, installations, commissioning and site training on operations, warranty management- as may be required by the client;
Provide onsite project management for the approved projects;
Capable of development of businesses in supply and installation of vacuum pumps for the industrial sector so as to compliment water pumps business;
Manage after sales service;
Capable of development markets and selling of Geodetic Instruments and Geophysical Instruments;
Capable of selling Equipment for Research, Education and Health Sectors;
Sales and Marketing Skills;
Presentation Skills; and
Report writing timely submitted to meet deadlines for: daily, monthly including submission of site reports with attached photographs.
I. Graduate BSc (MSc would be of advantage) in any of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical & Processing Engineering, Civil Engineering/Water Resources, and Environmental Engineering. Advance Diplomas complemented with applicable relevant extensive experience of 5 – 10 years would be considered;
II. Added experience on Sales & Marketing and Project Management skills; and
III. An opportunity is offered for fresh graduates. However, would require extra ordinary competence in their academics complemented with similar tasks in their field training supported with strong three referees/references and would have to undergo an internship programme of one year with a probation of six months under strict scrutiny.
Priority will be given to the above qualifications and experience of 5- 10 years in the below items:
I. Design of water pumping Stations and systems, treatment plants and piping systems;
II. Cost estimates of designed plants;
III. Operation and Maintenance arrangements;
IV. Supervision support during construction of designed systems;
V. Business Development; and
VI. Sales & Marketing of engineering equipment and instruments;
VII. Project Management.
I. Highly passionate in Sales and Marketing built up on practical gained experience; a test for this requirement applies;
II. Physically fit with proof of a medical report from an authorized doctor who can be contacted for verification;
III. Strong personality with high convincing power;
IV. Capable of working without supervision;
V. Highly enthusiastic and enjoy selling and interaction with all kind of personalities;
VI. High level of tolerance;
VII. Able to work and cope in a team of different characters;
VIII. Fast learner;
IX. Eloquently speaking and fluent in English and Kiswahili. Other languages will be of added advantage;
X. Ready and willing to be compensated on the measurable results;
XI. Willing to learn, career development in Sales and Marketing / Project Management;
XII. Driver’s Licence- capable of driving manual and automatic vehicles;
XIII. Ready to travel to remote places;
XIV. Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Design Programs must: AutoCAD/Solid Works or similar, others like Water CAD, EPANET would be of advantage;
XV. Impeccable integrity, not tolerable to immoral practices;
XVI. Age maximum- 40 years.
