The Watumishi Housing Company (WHC) is a public body responsible for implementing the Government Housing Scheme (PSHS) and the WHC Real Estate Investment Trust (WHC-REIT). Shareholders of WHC and PSHS donors are the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), the PPF Pension Fund, the Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF), the LAPF Pension Fund (LAPF) and the Caisse Pension Fund for Employees (GEPF), the National Health Insurance Funds (NHIF) and the National Housing Corporation (NHC).

To achieve its goals, WHC would like to invite appropriately qualified Tanzanians to join their lean, enterprising and dynamic team by filling the following posts:
Position:Land   Surveyor – One Post 
Department: Headquarters of WHC Dar es Salaam
Reporting to: Director of Operations
Salary level: 6

The surveyor will be responsible for providing topographical survey data for engineering, mapping, mining, soil assessment, construction and other purposes.

Duties and specific responsibilities
i) Creation and maintenance of sketches, maps, reports and legal descriptions of surveys describing, certifying and assuming responsibility for the work carried out.
ii) Conduct investigations to establish legal limits for real estate based on legal acts and titles.
iii) Prepare or monitor the creation of all survey data, diagrams, diagrams, maps, files and documents.
iv) Plan and conduct soil surveys to establish baselines, surveys and other geodetic measurements.
v) Search for legal documents, surveying documents and land titles to obtain information about land boundaries in the areas to be inspected.
vi) Coordinate the results with the work of engineers and architects, customers and others interested in the projects.
vii) Ensure that surveying instruments and equipment are safely maintained and maintained.
viii) Defining fixed points for their use in map development using geodetic and technical instruments.
ix) Train assistants and assistants and direct their work towards activities such as conducting surveys or creating maps.
x) Analyze the objectives and specifications of the survey to prepare survey suggestions or direct others to prepare the survey proposal.
xi) Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphologic and topographical features.
xii) Conduct investigations on topographical and cartographic methods using photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing techniques.
xiii) Carefully analyze the information before passing it on to other professionals.
xiv) Design of several methods for solving practical planning and development studies.
xv) Perform any other related tasks that can be assigned by the Operations Manager.
e) Academic qualifications and experience

i) diploma in topography, cartography or geomatics or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
ii) Must be registered with the Professional Council.
(iii) knowledge and skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) applications; Y
(iv) At least three (3) years of relevant land management experience in approved facilities.
