ESTABLISHMENT OF THE JOB EXHIBITION
The Tanzania Sugar Council (SBT) is a regulator for the sugar industry in Tanzania, established in accordance with Section 3 of Sugar Law No. 26 of 2001. The main regulatory functions of the Council are: quality and licensing; Data collection, analysis and dissemination; Market information; Law enforcement and order; Establishment and enforcement of rules and regulations for the production, processing, marketing, import and proper storage of sugar cane and sugar by-products and products.
SBT invites qualified Tanzanian candidates to apply for the following vacancies:

1. SENIOR REGULATORY SERVICES OFFICER II (LICENSING) - 1 POST

qualifications
Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution. At least three (3) years of oversight experience in a certification body in Tanzania.

Duties and responsibilities
Higher
Assisting the Director of Regulatory Services with the licensing and registration capabilities of the board.

Creation of annual schedules for the provision of licensing services.
Prepare the memorandum and other documents for the publication of regulations, regulations and rules that can be established.
Prepare the terms of reference and the terms of the contract to oblige registries of sugarcane producers and monitor the registration process.
Registration of manufacturers, industrial users and sugar importers.
Keep records of sugarcane producers, sugar manufacturers, industrial sugar consumers and sugar importers.
Determine the maximum amount of sugar needed.
Keep sufficient records of the licenses issued in accordance with the regulations of the sugar industry.
Preparation of evaluation reports and recommendations on registration and licensing activities related to the sugar industry.
Perform other tasks that can be directed / assigned by the Chief Regulatory Officer.

2. REGULATORY SERVICES OFFICER II - 2 POSTS

Qualifications
Degree in agriculture, agricultural economics, chemical and process engineering, sugar technology, business administration, economics or equivalent studies at a recognized university. Proven knowledge of the local and global sugar industry is an additional benefit.

Duties and responsibilities
Higher
Participation in regulatory activities (licensing, registration and compliance).

Specific tasks

Support the preparation of annual work schedules for the provision of regulatory services.
Implementation of regulatory work plans approved in accordance with the Law and the Sugar Regulation.
Processing of import applications for sugar, sugar export and sugar manufacturing licenses
Keep records of sugarcane producers, sugar manufacturers, industrial sugar consumers and sugar importers. Preparation of evaluation reports and recommendations on registration and licensing activities related to the sugar industry.
Proper record of issued licenses and supervision of the use of licenses in accordance with the regulations of the sugar industry. Conduct awareness-raising programs for interested parties on regulations and guidelines regularly issued by the Council and / or the Government with regard to the sugar industry.
Perform another task that can be assigned / assigned.
3. DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING & LIAISON OFFICER II - 1 POST

qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agriculture, Agriculture or Sugar Technology from a recognized institution.

Duties and responsibilities

Develop and maintain links between SBT and sugar industry stakeholders.
Assist the senior planning and development officer in all development and connectivity issues in the sugar industry.

Monitoring the implementation of the National Development Plan (sugar sub-sector), the Sugar Industry Development Plan and the SBT Strategic Plan, and informing the Head of Development, Planning and Liaison.
Conduct pre-investment studies / surveys and soliciting strategic investors for specific projects.
Cooperation with the trust fund for the development of the sugar industry. Monitoring the implementation of agreements between the government and investors regarding agreed investment plans or programs.
Lead the development of small sugar processing projects and at home at the national level.
To promote the development and expansion of sugarcane production, the production and marketing of sugar and the use of sugar by-products.
Conduct research studies to introduce cost-effective sugar production.
Conducting price studies on sugar, sugarcane and related products in accordance with the Sugar Industry Act.

4.0 LEGAL SERVICES OFFICER II - 2 POSTS

qualifications
Holder of a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution. As an attorney, an additional benefit is granted.

EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years in a similar position in an accredited organization.

Duties and responsibilities

Bringing together relevant evidence of litigation involving the Council.
To take care of documents and correspondence of cases that are already assigned.
Assistance in the management of the current legal correspondence addressed to the Council.

To facilitate compliance with the terms of agreements and contracts.
Create a list of changed laws, regulations and rules.
Maintain an up-to-date database of court decisions.

5. DRIVER II - 2 POSTS

qualifications
A Certificate of Secondary School Certificate with passages in Kiswahili and English must have a valid Class C driver's license of at least three years without causing an accident and having a Level III or higher certificate / certificate of recognized driving. ,

Duties and responsibilities

Drive vehicles to approved destinations and in accordance with traffic regulations;
To carry out minor mechanical repairs,
Bring routine maintenance / repair vehicles to the designated service representative.
Maintain the registration registers of motor vehicles;
Check the assigned vehicle before driving and report mechanical damage / defects;
Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the vehicle at all times;
Ensure that valid documents and permits are purchased prior to commencing the journey;
Report accidents or vehicle accidents immediately to the competent authority;

7. EMPLOYMENT METHOD
